In commemoration of its recent opening, the youth-focused GR.iD mall is hosting an Amazing Race-inspired game tournament from now till Apr 30.

Titled ‘GR.iD Arena’, players are required to hunt for eight unique QR codes hidden within the mall’s space.

A higher ranking in every game will earn the player more stars, which collectively will contribute to a leaderboard to win prizes.

At the end of the tournament, the top 10 players on the leaderboard will win prizes including a Nintendo Switch Lite, Apple Airpods, Korean food hamper, and discount vouchers. PHOTO CREDIT: SCREENSHOT FROM GR.ID ARENA’S WEBSITE

GR.iD, an abbreviation for Great Identities, officially opened its doors at 1 Selegie Road on Feb 12, sporting six levels and shops ranging from retail to education and entertainment.

Teaming up with brand consultancy 8traordinary and gaming startup Storms, the game tournament is intended to interject some fun into the shoppers’ retail experience.

In a press statement on Feb 16, managing director at 8traordinary Jeffrey Lim said: “As Singapore transitions towards endemic living, more consumers will be going out of their homes.

“GR.iD Arena will help visitors reconnect as they are engaged in fun, competitive activities down at GR.iD’s physical space.”
