Online pre-orders for the new Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are open from Thursday (Oct 6), with the new devices hitting stores on Oct 13.

The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will come with the latest Google Tensor Chip – Tensor G2.

According to Google, the new models will “ensure a better user experience” compared to previous releases as the Tensor G2 is developed using Google’s advanced machine learning and speech recognition.

The Pixel 7 has a 6.3-inch display while the Pixel 7 Pro has a 6.7-inch display. Additionally, the Pixel 7 Pro comes with an immersive Smooth Display that can adjust up to 120 Hz.

Camera features for both models include Super Res Zoom, Macro Focus, Cinematic Blur and Photo Unblur. Both models will carry the same front camera, suitable for low-light photography. Users will also be able to take 4K60 videos and have a wide field of view for group selfies.

Apart from having a Night Sight feature to improve low-light situations, users who suffer from low vision can use the Guided Frame feature. It allows users to take selfies through audio and haptics.

The phones also come with a triple rear camera system that allows for crisp photos from far away.

The phones also come with The Face Unlock and Fingerprint Unlock features. Users can conveniently unlock their phones with either a glance or a tap.

Pixel also comes with at least five years of security updates, so the phones will not become less secure over time.

The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro also boasts the Adaptive Battery that can last over 24 hours on a single charge. The Adaptive Battery will learn users’ habits and reduce battery use on apps that are not used as often.

There is also an Extreme Battery Saver mode that allows the phones to last up to 72 hours when turned on.
