Giant Singapore, Ang Mo Supermarket now accept CDC Vouchers
There are now a total of seven supermarket chains that are onboard the CDC Vouchers Scheme.
Giant Singapore and Ang Mo Supermarket will now accept Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers, announced the Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling through a Facebook post on Feb 1.
Households can now use CDC vouchers to purchase their groceries at seven supermarket chains across the country. The seven chains are NTUC FairPrice, Sheng Siong, Prime Supermarket, HAO Mart, U Stars Supermarket, Giant Singapore and Ang Mo Supermarket.
Giant Singapore clarified in a Facebook post that the CDC vouchers cannot be used at its self-checkout counters as they need to be presented to a cashier.
Besides these supermarket chains, CDC vouchers are also accepted by participating heartland hawkers and merchants. These hawkers and merchants display a teal decal outside their stalls to indicate that they accept the vouchers.
Ms Low added that more than 1.1 million, or about 90% of Singaporean households, have claimed their $300 CDC vouchers. Over a total of $132 million has been spent at outlets that accept CDC vouchers so far.
