Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar 2022 to expand with more stalls from Apr 14 onwards
There will be an additional 30 new stalls in the bazaar.
The Geylang Serai Ramadan bazaar will expand from Apr 14 onwards to accommodate more stalls between Wisma Geylang Serai and Tanjong Pagar Complex.
The Minister of State for National Development Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim announced this expansion through his Facebook post on Tuesday, Apr 5.
“In view of the relaxed SMMs, there is now an opportunity to optimise this space and improve the connectivity within Geylang Serai precinct with more stalls to offer greater variety of food as well as a wide choice of festive essentials,” wrote Mr Faishal.
According to Strait Times, organiser Wisma Geylang Serai will add two more zones to the existing two zones at the bazaar. This addition will result in 30 new stalls to operate.
The first new zone will be at the sheltered pathway next to Tanjong Katong Complex which will hold 10 retail stalls, while the second will be at the open field next to the complex with another 10 food stalls and 10 retail stalls.
The new stalls will operate until May 2 as well and this will bring the total number of stalls at the bazaar to 70.
The new zones will have separate queues, entrances and exit points to handle the crowd.
Mr Faishal said that the response to the Geylang Serai Hari Raya Shopping Experience “has been very positive” and hopes that the expansion “will bring the community even more festive cheer during this special month of Ramadan”.
