A German pretzel bakery, offering a line-up of signature lye-dipped breads and pastries, opened its doors on Monday (Aug 14).

Located at Icon Village in Tanjong Pagar, Park Bäckerei offers Swabian-style pretzels from Southwest Germany, Brötchen (bread rolls) and a selection of items that are ideal for a quick meal or takeaway.

The bakery also has a savoury variation of its signature pretzels. The Cheese Pretzel, a fusion of Park Bäckerei’s distinctive pretzel with cheddar cheese, maintains a light and soft texture on the inside.

Aside from Brötchen, Park Bäckerei also has sweet bakes such as the Karamel Igel (caramel hedgehog) that is filled with homemade caramel spread and Schoko Rolls (chocolate rolls) that has a rich layer of Belgian chocolate spread.

The Bread Box, priced at $25, is said to be an ideal option for new patrons. It comes with three mini pretzels, three mini cheese pretzels, two Karamel Igels and two Schoko Rolls.

One can also opt for its homemade spreads that are available as add-ons — Obatzda and Frischkäse.

Besides pretzels and sweet bakes, the bakery also sells stuffed bagels and sandwiches that are made with the same pretzel dough recipe.

Its savoury bagel options include Jalapeño Cheddar and Caprese Pesto – a combination of aromatic basil pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, and mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Patrons seeking a sweeter alternative may consider its Speculoos Apple, Hazelnut Double Chocolate and Red Velvet Coconut options.

The menu at the Icon Village flagship store will include a selection of sandwiches such as Roast Beef, Brie, and a German-inspired Sausage Kraut.

Park Bäckerei also has a range of beverages to complement its selection of pretzels, bagels, and sandwiches.

Alongside classic freshly-brewed coffee options like Caffe Latte and Americano are non-caffeinated options like Hot Chocolate and Sparkling Tea.

The dessert selection includes treats such as the Belgian Chocolate Mousse and Speculoos Cheese Mousse.

To commemorate the annual beer festival in Germany and the world’s largest beer celebration, Park Bäckerei will offer an exclusive Oktoberfest Package that can be shared among friends and family.
