After a two-year hiatus, the Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert returns to the Garden’s grounds.

The live concert will take place on Aug 6, 7.30pm to 9.30pm, at the Supertree Grove.

Hosted by deejays Jean Danker and Joakim Gomez, the concert will present a line-up of musical performances as well as comedic skits.

Actress Rui En will reunite with Singapore Idol Taufik Batisah to perform the 2005 National Day theme song Reach Out For The Skies, which captured hearts and attention when it was released 17 years ago.

Taufik will also perform two other songs – the National Day Parade (NDP) 2022 theme song Stronger Together and his hit single Awak Kat Mane

Rapper Yung Raja will perform two songs from his repertoire – Spice Boy and his breakout hit, Mad Blessings

The line-up of musicians also includes singer-songwriter Shabir, who will debut his new song Rubaiyat Kavithai and another original composition, Vettai S5 Title Track, which serves as the theme song to the fifth season of Vasantham’s thriller drama, Vettai.

Also debuting a new song is Dick Lee and his band Omnitones, who will perform their latest track Love is Real along with two other tracks, Everyday Heroes and We Will Get There

Duo Benjamin Kheng and Annette Lee will showcase their popular comedic segment The Ann & Ben Show, where their characters such as Chantelle, Asian Mum and Hawker Uncle will make an appearance.

The duo will also perform their original hit, The Cai Fan Song, and a cover of the 2001 NDP theme song, Where I Belong

In a lighthearted skit, comedians Alaric Tay and Chua Enlai will reprise their roles as Nicholas Le Fong and Pornsak Sukhumvitwho from the iconic comedy show The Noose

The concert will also see 500 drones from local drone innovation company MIRS Innovate light up the night sky in the formation of the Singapore flag during the Pledge recitation and National Anthem sing along segment.

This year’s edition of the concert will be graced by guest of honour President Halimah Yacob and first gentleman, Mr Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee.

The tickets for the on-site concert on Aug 6 have been fully redeemed. However, members of the public without tickets can still catch the concert through a livestream at the Supertree Grove.

The concert will also be aired on meWATCH, Mediacorp Channel 5 and the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube channel on Aug 13, from 8pm to 9pm.
