Frozen broadway musical to storm the stage at the Sands Theatre from Feb 5, 2023
This will be the Disney musical’s only stop in Southeast Asia.
Disney’s Frozen The Hit Broadway Musical, produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and presented by Base Entertainment Asia, is set to storm the stage at the Sands Theatre from Feb 5, 2023.
The new musical is adapted from the Disney film and the original 1844 fairy tale The Snow Queen by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen.
Fans can look forward to the likes of performers such as Jemma Mix (as Elsa), Matt Lee (as Olaf) and Courney Monsma (as Anna). Jemma is known for her role as Elphaba in Wicked, while Matt played Bert in Mary Poppins.
The musical will mark Disney Theatrical Productions’ fourth production in Singapore following The Lion King in 2011 and 2018, and Aladdin in 2019. This will also be the musical’s only stop in Southeast Asia.

According to Disney, Frozen first opened on Broadway in March 2018 at the St. James Theatre, earning the highest box office advance in Broadway history. It also was the highest grossing musical of its Broadway season in its first year on Broadway.
The musical also included a North American tour, London’s West End, Japan and Hamburg, Germany.

The musical will feature a full score, along with 12 new songs written by Academy Award-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Bobby Lopez.
Kristen has written songs for Marvel’s Wandavision and Pixar’s Coco, and Bobby for the sitcom The Simpsons and children’s cartoon Wonderpets.
