Pawrents, mark your calendars! You can now bring your pets for a free Pet Health Check at Pets’ Day Out on May 6.

Organised by the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), the event will take place at Parkland Green, East Coast Park from 10am to 6pm.

The health check is limited to dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs.

Those bringing their cats to the event can also get a free nail clipping and ear cleaning service by Hey Good Cat from 10am to 1.30pm.

Attendees can look forward to a series of cat-themed talks that will tap on various topics such as the needs of both pet and community cats, tips on reading cat body language,  responsible cat ownership and how to introduce another cat into your home.

Those wanting to adopt a new fur-mily member can head over to the event’s adoption drive that will feature animals from BFF Rescue Cats, Mettacats & Dogs Sanctuary, Cat Welfare Society and SPCA Singapore.

Pet owners who are on the hunt for pet essentials can explore the marketplace with pet products like pet food and accessories, as well as services for furry friends.

Parents can register their kids for the educational workshops that are conducted by Animals and Us Academy and Petzmania by AVS. One such workshop is the ‘Vet Clinic’ tour, where parents and children learn to  recognise basic pet body language and inspect pets for common parasites in a mock veterinary clinic.

The event is also set to take place on Jun 24 and Aug 19. Those interested can RSVP at the Pets’ Day Out event page for updates.
