When it comes to making education and career decisions, it’s normal to feel like you lack direction.

As youths, we tend to either get too little or too much advice at our major milestones.

This is where LifeSG can help you to simplify the decision-making process and clarify doubts, especially when you don’t know where to start or overwhelmed by conflicting information or resources.

LifeSG is a one-stop portal for citizens to navigate Government services in Singapore. The app provides resources to cover milestones like buying a HDB and retirement but also caters to young people who are wondering what’s next in their education or career.

Still not convinced? Here are four reasons why you should download the LifeSG app to help you be more confident in your education and career choices:

1. Discover your interests, personality, strengths, and work values

Fun fact: Your personality plays a huge part when it comes to the types of jobs you’re suited for! But what could you do to understand yourself better?

Under the ‘Exploring education and career opportunities’ guide on the app, there is a free self-assessment test called the RIASEC (realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, conventional) profiling tool.

You can find this guide right at the top under ‘featured topics’ on the home screen of the LifeSG app. If not, click ‘see all’ and then find ‘Exploring education and career opportunities’.

The RIASEC test lets you know how suitable you are for different occupations. Simply select the RIASEC test that matches your current stage in life to find out your strengths, personality, interests, and work values.

Not only do you get to know yourself better, but you’ll also get suggestions of careers that are suited to your RIASEC type!

2. Explore possible education and career paths

Once you’ve found out more about your interests from your quiz results, it’s time to discover some possible careers and familiarise yourself with Singapore’s industry landscape.
