Five things to do this weekend (Nov 26-28)
There are quite some Pokémon themed activities to check out.
With restrictions easing and group sizes increasing to five, it’s definitely going to be a fun weekend ahead! This weekend’s a good time to start getting into the festive mood, especially if you’re a Pokémon fan.
Here are five things to do this weekend (Nov 26-28):
1. Go ice skating

Have you ever wanted to skate under the stars?
You can now do so at a new pop-up skating rink at CHIJMES’ mini lawn! The rink will open daily from 5pm-9pm until 2 Jan next year. All guests are required to wear a pair of skates and socks, which can be rented and purchased at CHIJMES.
Ticket prices are at S$5 per person and you can purchase them online here.
2. Take a picture with Pokémon

Pokémon fans can’t miss this Pokémon wonderland happening this Christmas!
Spot all your favourite pokémons like Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble and Snorlax all over City Green Park and the Atrium Area of City Square Mall. The main attraction is a staggering 6m tall Pikachu display, which makes for a good photo opportunity with your family and friends.
Additionally, spend a minimum of S$60 at the mall and redeem a set of winter-themed Pokémon Christmas wrapping paper!
3. Have a staycation with Pokémon

In other Pokémon news, Fairmont Singapore will be having Pokémon-themed staycations where the hotel’s lobby and guest rooms will be decorated with Pokémon-themed elements.
There will also be a display showcasing a collection of 50 cards that showcases some highlights of the Pokémon TCG: Celebration expansion.
Additionally, guests are also entitled to complimentary loan sets of Nintendo Switch consoles to try out games like Pokémon SNAP, and the brand new Pokémon Brilliant Diamond!
4. Eat at Timbre+ Eastside

Yes you read that right!
Well-loved F&B concept, Timbre+, will be opening in the East from Nov 27.
At a sprawling 2,000sqm, the sustainable food park will feature 21 F&B concepts although only 13 will open in the initial phase. This includes Huat Huat BBQ Chicken Wings and Lao Niang De Dian which sells a fusion of Malaysian and Thai food.
There will also be a kerbside drive-thru, playground, a cycling pitstop and book swap corner – how exciting!
5. Get jio-ed to volunteer

Fully vaccinated and are out of options on things to do with your friends?
Why not try volunteering and join local personalities Benjamin Kheng and Pamela Lee Nur Shuhadah as they do some good!
First, there is an interactive poverty simulation called ‘Rethink POVerty’ happening on Nov 28. You will be put through various scenarios that will trigger your empathy – and hopefully we learn to be more grateful for the things we have!
Alternatively, you can always register for ‘The Greenies’ happening on 4 Dec. It will be a fun day of kayaking and learning more about the environment, Singapore’s waterway and how to preserve it.
