Five things to do this weekend (Nov 12-14)
We’re getting closer to the festive period!
Whether you are finishing up your school term, have already started the school holidays, or are planning for that end-of-year-break from work, there’s something for you to unwind and relax.
Here are five things to do this weekend (Nov 12 to Nov 14):
1. Busk in the Christmas mood

Nothing quite says Christmas is coming in Singapore like the annual Orchard Road light-up.
This year’s light-up theme is “Christmas in Bloom” and it starts this weekend. The design includes 68km of fairy lights and oversized floral decorations with bold neon lights.
Highlights this year include a giant outdoor video projection taking up an entire wall of Mandarin Orchard, as well as an augmented reality display of fireworks that shoppers can see through a mobile app, PopAR.
2. Say hello to a giant KAWS sculpture

Popular inflatable sculpture Companion, made by world-renowned designer KAWS, will be making its way to Singapore from Nov 13 to Nov 21. The 42m giant will be on display at The Float @ Marina Bay where you can go and snap nice shots with!
Companion is made in a reclined position and embracing a smaller version of itself. Additionally, there are limited edition Companion collectibles that you can get online.
3. Say hello to life-sized dinosaurs too

In other HUGE openings this weekend, the Singapore Zoo and River Wonders will be kickstarting Brickosaurs World, an event featuring life-size LEGO dinosaur sculptures.
The showcase consists of more than 60 dinosaurs built using 1.5 million LEGO bricks that took over 8,000 hours to complete.
The event aims to educate visitors about animals on the brink of extinction and what can be done to save them using the dinosaurs as a fun but cautionary tale. This will be done through digital interactive trails on visitors’ phones.
4. Watch shows on Disney+

More of a homebody?
Then staying home to watch Disney+ might be a good idea too!
After all, Disney+ Day takes place on Nov 12, with The Walt Disney Company hosting a global celebration. Disney+ subscribers will have new content to watch across Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Star.
This includes the well-received Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings and a new short from The Simpsons that pays tribute to Disney+ marquee brands.
5. Listen to Taylor Swift’s re-recording of Red

One of the most anticipated albums of the year, is perhaps Taylor Swift’s re-recording of her fourth studio album Red, which is released on Nov 12.
The album will feature all 20 songs off the original version, as well as 9 unreleased songs from The Vault where she collaborated with other singers such as Ed Sheeran and Phoebe Bridgers.
Fans can also look forward to listening to charity single Ronan, and a 10-minute version of All Too Well. You can get the album here.
