Ever wondered how a festival is put together? Want to know what it’s like to work in the arts?
Esplanade is organising a youth engagement programme titled POV: Insights from the Industry, for youths to hear from programmers and arts managers and gain an insider’s perspective of people working in the arts industry through dialogues, tours, and performances.
For the first series of the programme, youths will discover how a festival is put together and the significance of one of Esplanade’s cultural festivals, Pesta Raya – Malay Festival of Arts, and get the chance to interact with the team behind this festival and also get to watch two of the festival performances all for free! The event will be held on May 28 and 29 from 1pm to 6pm.
Other than speaking to the festival team, there will also be an industry chat session on May 28 at 4.30pm with arts managers Fezhah Maznan and Saiful Amri as they share their experience and challenges working in the arts. As part of this programme, there will also be a FOH (front-of-house) tour of Esplanade, giving youths a glimpse of the venues.
