Five things to do this weekend (March 4-6)
March seems to be a month filled with picturesque nature and adorable cartoon characters.
We have officially entered the month of March and it’s shaping up to be a great time for nature lovers!
Take a break from stress and rest your eyes, fill your stomachs, and entertain your ears with these five things to do this weekend (March 4-6):
1. See some sakuras
Spring is here!
Starting this weekend, you can join Tokidoki’s five magical Unicornos in making their debut at this year’s Sakura floral display at Gardens by the Bay.
The landscape will feature torii gates, hanami settings, and Japanese floral art by Ikebana International Singapore. You will also be able to explore a “magical giant box” with marumado, or traditional round Japanese windows with a view.
This sakura event is one of GBTB’s eight full-scale displays for 2022. Find out more here.
2. Visit a therapeutic garden
Looking for a new place to take your evening walks?
You’ll be pleased to know that the National Parks Board (NParks) has opened two new therapeutic gardens at Bedok Reservoir Park and Pasir Ris Park over the past week!
The gardens have been deliberately planned to facilitate visitors’ interactions with nature and improve their well-being. This includes an inter-generational fitness corner, as well as an outdoor physiotherapy area with fitness equipment that can be helpful for physiotherapy sessions for seniors.

3. Go on a staycation
Calling all Hello Kitty fans!
You’ll definitely want to have a staycation at Fairmont Singapore this weekend! For the months of March and April, the hotel will be having a Hello Kitty-themed staycation package where the lobby and selected rooms will feature larger-than-life Hello Kitty figurines.
Room prices start from S$418++, and the package includes breakfast for two adults and up to two children. Book your staycation here.
4. Buy McGriddles
Yes, you read that right! McGriddles is back!
Available for a limited time only as usual, there is an all new Chicken McGriddles with Egg (from S$5.90) joining the menu. You can also choose to get the McGriddles Stack (from S$6.70) if you want a heartier meal.
And if you’re seeking a dessert thrill, you can always get the Chocolate Pie (S$1.50) or KIT KAT McFlurry (S$3). Boy, we’re hungry already!
5. Listen to Avril Lavigne’s new album
Pop-punk star Avril Lavigne dropped her seventh studio album last week, and it’s taking fans back to the noughties.
Titled Love Sux, the album features 12 tracks including hit singles “Bite Me” and “Love It When You Hate Me”. It tells tales of heartbreak and breakups but also has a powerful positive message for people to stand up for themselves. The album features collaborations with Mark Hoppus, Blackbear and Machine Gun Kelly.
