Five things to do this weekend (Jan 13-15)
Leap into Chinese New Year with a LEGO Prosperity Carrot Hunt at Suntec or complete your shopping at the festive bazaar in Chinatown.
Contributing to a LEGO community mural, doing Chinese New Year shopping at the festive fair at Chinatown and checking out rabbit-themed exhibitions are some of the things you can do as we approach the festive season.
Here are some things you can do this weekend (Jan 13-15):
1. Participate in the Prosperity Carrot Hunt at LEGO prosperity burrows

LEGO is running the Prosperity Burrows pop-up at the Atrium (Tower 1 and 2) at Suntec City.
Groups will be given a Starter Kit to participate in the Prosperity Carrot Hunt onsite, where they have to finish themed challenges such as synchronised jumping to win a LEGO polybag.
There are also plenty of photo opportunities around the space, including with a giant rotating bunny centrepiece.
You can also contribute to a LEGO community mural by decorating a LEGO base plate with assorted LEGO tiles, or purchase themed Chinese New Year LEGO sets.
2. Complete your Chinese New Year shopping at the festive bazaar at Chinatown

Colourful rabbit lights, street lanterns, and the hustle and bustle return to the streets of Chinatown as the historical precinct gears up to leap into the Year of the Rabbit.
Admire the festive lights adorning Upper Cross Street for the first time, as they join the returning light-up at New Bridge Road, Eu Tong Sen Street and South Bridge Road.
Also don’t miss out the Chinese New Year bazaar, consisting of 280 stalls along Smith Street, Pagoda Street, Trengganu Street and Temple Street peddling Chinese New Year goodies.
3. Take photos with Disney characters at Jewel Changi Airport

You can find a range of themed activities and retail offerings at Jewel Changi Airport as part of Disney100, paying tribute to nearly 100 years of storytelling from The Walt Disney Company.
These include photo spots inspired by select Disney films and a special Disney100 Light and Sound Show featuring some of Disney’s most popular characters.
A new six-minute choreographed Disney-themed Disney100 Light and Sound Show at the HSBC Rain Vortex will kick off at 7.30pm from Jan 13 to 15. It will feature a medley of songs, including When You Wish Upon A Star, A Whole New World, You’ve Got A Friend In Me and the theme soundtrack from Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame.
There will also be surprise appearances by Disney’s characters during the show, only for this weekend.
4. Catch Singapore Art Museum’s Dance in the Destruction Dance exhibition

Returning visitors to Singapore Art Museum’s (SAM) latest Dance in the Destruction Dance installation can witness the constant evolution of the exhibition as it gets activated and transformed through live theatrical performances over three months.
Running from Jan 13 to Apr 16 at Tanjong Pagar Distripark, the installation is created by Singapore artist Joo Choon Lin and features several artworks including Glue Your Eyelids Together (2017), I Only Make Friends With Money (2012), and Beatific Perfume (2020-present).
The installation’s sculptures, videos and drawings will undergo transformations into unrecognisable shapes and configurations during two live runs of theatrical performance pEARs ‘ — — — ‘ in §pring (2018).
Scripted and performed by Joo Choon Lin alongside other performers, it will involve the manipulation of the artworks in transformations meant to irk the audience into wondering if there is a distinction between reality and appearance.
5. Search for the works of 12 local artists around Funan mall

Admire works by 12 local artists on display in Funan mall, titled Creative Intersections: In the Year of the Rabbit.
Organised by Funan and curated by Chan + Hori Contemporary, the third edition of Funan’s mall-wide art activation returns from now till Feb 5 and is also a part of the Singapore Art Week 2023.
The artworks are inspired by the imaginative and social nature of the rabbit, and include six artist-and-brand collaborations.
Such collaborations include one between playwright Nabila Said and BERNINA, a brand specialising in sewing machines, and another between toy customiser Rex Lee and BLAXK by ActionCity.
