Here are five things to do this weekend (Aug 5 to 7):
1. Check out ArtScience Museum’s latest exhibition

The ArtScience Museum’s newest exhibition titled Patricia Piccinini: We Are Connected is open from now till Jan 29, 2023.
Showcasing more than 40 artworks of animal and human hybrids coexisting, her work depicts the unusual mutations of people and nature, and sheds light on the effect of technology such as genetic engineering and cloning.
It is also the first major solo showcase in Southeast Asia for Patricia Piccinini, one of the world’s leading contemporary artists.
Tickets start from $14 and can be purchased via the ArtScience Museum website.
2. Enjoy the last few days of the Singapore Garden Festival

This year’s Singapore Garden Festival will run till Aug 7 at Orchard Road and Aug 9 at Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Both locations have a series of activities for visitors to participate in such as a floral arrangement competitions.
There’s also a marketplace set up at Tyersall Coach Park for visitors to browse and shop for gardening-related products. The marketplace will be open from 8.30am to 7pm every day throughout the event.
SGF will be open to visitors from 10am to 10pm at Orchard Road and 8.30am to 7pm at Singapore Botanic Gardens. More information and updates about the different competitions can be found on SGF’s official website.
3. Catch Emergency Declaration in cinemas

Calling all thriller fanatics! South Korean disaster-action film Emergency Declaration is now out in cinemas.
Starring Song Kang-ho from Parasite and Lee Byung-hun from Squid Game, the film tells the story of how an aircraft is forced to declare an emergency when an unprecedented terror occurs inflight.
4. Refresh your wardrobe at Playdate’s Thrift Market

Popular thrift store Playdate is holding another Thrift Market at OUE Downtown Gallery on Aug 6 and 7 from 11am to 6pm.
Tickets are available in three sets – A, B and C – with prices varying depending on how many pieces you intend to purchase at the market.
A Set A ticket allows you to purchase up to five pieces for $18, a Set B ticket allows you to purchase up to 10 pieces for $28, while a Set C allows you to purchase up to 20 pieces for $48.

5. Catch The Simon & Garfunkel Story at the Sands Theatre

Following a sold-out worldwide tour, The Simon & Garfunkel Story is coming to Singapore for two nights on Aug 5 and 6 at the Sands Theatre.
The immersive concert-style theatre show tells the story of the amazing journey shared by the folk-rock duo, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. It features a full live band and state of the art video projection and lighting.
