Five long weekends in 2022, including a four-day weekend
There will be a total of 10 public holidays in 2022.
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) released the dates of 2022’s gazetted public holidays on Tuesday (Apr 6).
There will be 10 scheduled public holidays next year, including five long weekends.
As Vesak Day (May 15) and Christmas Day (Dec 25) fall on Sundays, the Mondays after will be public holidays.
Good Friday (Apr 15) and Deepavali (Oct 24) fall on Friday and Monday respectively, so there will be a total of four three-day weekends.
Labour Day (May 1) falls on a Sunday and Hari Raya Puasa (May 2) takes place the next day. As a result, there will be a four-day weekend from Apr 30 to May 3.
The other public holidays for 2022 are:
- New Year’s Day (Jan 1)
- Chinese New Year (Feb 1 and Feb 2)
- Hari Raya Haji (Jul 9)
- National Day (Aug 9)
With more Singaporeans getting the COVID-19 vaccinations as well as potential travel corridors opening, hopefully we will get to go overseas during 2022’s public holidays or long weekends.
