From vibrant backdrops to pastel backgrounds, check out these underrated Insta-worthy spots in Tampines.
A city like Singapore may seem small but it is filled with picturesque places for your next Instagram post.
We decided to explore the heartlands of Tampines and discovered some photo-worthy spots in the neighbourhood.
Here is our list of five Insta-worthy locations in Tampines!
1. Watermelon playground at Tampines Central Park
Looking for a fun backdrop? There is a fruit-themed playground found within Tampines Central Park, a five-minute walk from Tampines Hub.
The playground consists of a watermelon slice and a mangosteen playground.
To get a full view of the playground, take a landscape photo of the watermelon playground with your subject standing in the middle. You can also make use of the tiny ‘seed’ windows to take photos.

Inside the watermelon playground, there is a staircase that leads to a concrete slide, which can be a vibrant and playful backdrop for your next Instagram #OOTD photo.

Address: Tampines Street 83
2. Silhouette shots at Tampines Street 8
If you are looking to take some silhouette photos, these blocks at Tampines are the perfect place.
We took the lift up to the 15th floor and headed to the stairs that lead to a round window.
The pastel and cream colours of the opposite HDB blocks are a flattering backdrop. The sunset can also add warm hues to your photos.
Let your subject stand and face the window to capture their silhouette.

If your subject has a pair of sunglasses or a hat, use it as a prop by adjusting it on your head for a candid shot.
Address: Blocks 856A-E, Tampines Street 82
3. Octagon cut-outs at Tampines Street 43
Void decks are not just a common space for people to hang out, but they can be used as an aesthetic background for your Instagram photo!
The army green octagon cut-outs in the black and white blocks in this area serve as a nice frame for your shots. Wear a bright and colourful top or skirt for a contrasting look against the white walls.

If you make it to the location in time for the sunset, make sure your subject is facing the light then snap a “golden hour” photo for your Instagram feed!
Address: Block 495F Tampines Street 43
4. Red brick flats at Tampines Street 45
If you are a fan of symmetry, head over to this block of adjacent red brick flats that tower over a basketball court.
With a vast void deck and towering pillars, you’re able to create different perspectives for your shots. Stand on the white podium and shoot your photos at a low angle to capture more of the sky in the photo.

If you’re looking to add retro, artsy vibes to your Instagram feed, this is the right place for you!
Address: Block 497A, Tampines Street 45
5. Spiral walkway at Tampines Cultural Hub
Used as a recreational area for the public, Tampines’ Cultural Hub has a spiral walkway with an open courtyard.

Climb to the top of the walkway and let your subject try out different poses against the metallic structure for a playful shot.

Don’t be afraid to take shots even when it is bright and sunny at this location.
Address: Block 936 Tampines Street 91
These are some hidden gems for your next photoshoot in the heart of Tampines. Have fun shooting!
