Fireworks will be set off at the Jurong West, Woodlands and Bedok stadiums as well as at the former Tampines Junior College and the field in front of Ang Mo Kio Public Library on National Day.

The fireworks will be timed at 8.15pm to coincide with the National Day Parade.

This is part of the NDP 2022 Heartland Celebrations that will be held at 12 heartland locations on Aug 6, 7 and 9.

The celebrations “seek to engage Singaporeans, their families and communities in the National Day festivities,” said the NDP organising committee and the People’s Association (PA) in a joint statement on Wednesday (Jul 13).

A total of five carnivals with varying themes will also be set up — four at Bishan, Punggol, Sembawang and Buona Vista on Aug 6 and another one at Geylang Wisma Serai on Aug 7.

The carnivals are organised in partnership with PA and will feature exhibitions, performances and activities to engage families.

Admission into the carnivals will be ticketed according to the respective site capacities.

Tickets and carnival coupons can be collected at Community Clubs across the country on a first-come, first-served basis from Jul 14 onwards.

The coupons will allow the public to redeem NDP packs at the carnival sites. E-tickets will also be available through a booking link on the NDP website from Jul 23 onwards.

The iconic Red Lions will also do a freefall jump at the open fields next to Junction 8 and Ghim Moh Food Market on Aug 7 around 9am before interacting with the public afterwards.

On Aug 9, two Chinook helicopters will carry the State Flag across the eastern and western parts of Singapore from 5.25pm to 6.15pm.

The western route will cover Bukit Panjang, Bukit Timah, Kranji, Choa Chu Kang, Jurong and West Coast while the eastern route includes Khatib, Seng Kang, Punggol, Bedok, Pasir Ris, Changi and East Coast.

Six fighter jets will also soar across the nation in a delta formation from 5.50pm to 6.15pm on the same day.

Participants who wish to enter the viewing sites for the fireworks display and the carnivals will have to be fully vaccinated or be exempted from vaccinations under national guidelines, said the organising committee.

The public will be required to show their vaccination status.

The programme rundown for the various celebrations can be found via the NDP social media platforms and on its official website.
