Durex’s streetwear collection ‘not a prank’, set to launch in May 2022
Customers will have to purchase $25 worth of Durex products before they have access to the collection.
In a surprising turn of events, Durex is indeed making its foray into the fashion world.
The condom brand earlier this week announced that it would launch a limited-edition streetwear collection on Friday (Apr 1) but many speculated that it was one of its yearly April Fool’s pranks.
However, Durex chose to switch it up this year, declaring that their debut streetwear collection is “the real deal” and “not a prank”. The launch date is set in May.
The collection includes an oversized white slogan tee, statement socks, a casual tote bag and a bucket hat. Customers can get their hands on the collection with a minimum purchase of $25 worth of Durex products at major supermarkets, pharmacies and convenience stores.
According to Durex, they “aim to challenge the stigma that Singaporeans face when buying condoms” through giving everyone an opportunity to wear Durex.
The brand also has its sights set on breaking barriers for education around safe sex, as well as clearing up misconceptions around condoms and pleasure in the upcoming months.
More details will be announced in due time, said Durex in its press release.
