Downtown East’s annual Halloween event Yokai Festival returns this year in October
Up to $100 worth of Downtown East vouchers are up for grabs.
Halloween Town: Yokai Festival makes their annual comeback at Downtown East this October for the fourth time, bringing social media into the event for a more immersive experience.
Yokai are supernatural beings from Japanese folklore. The Yokai Festival is Downtown East’s take on these supernatural entities.
This year, the Yokai Village faces the threat of the Three-Tailed Scorpion monster Amikiro as it has captured Kandy Onna, the heroine of the story. To help Kandy Onna regain her powers, the Yokais have to look for the magic candy.
For the month of October, weekly chapters of the story will be posted on Downtown East’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) every Tuesday and Saturday. Participants should keep an eye out for these weekly releases to help the Yokais’ journey to save Kandy Onna.
From October 11 to 17, Downtown East shoppers can stand a chance to win $100 worth of Downtown East vouchers by simply commenting the number of candies found on their social media platforms. Double your chances of winning by commenting on their TikTok page as well.
On Oct 30, guess how the Yokais’ story ends by participating in a poll on Downtown East’s Instagram account and win attractive prizes. Don’t forget to check out their Yokai-themed filters too.
Other activities include a scratchcard event where participants can win vouchers for Downtown East, Don Don Donki, and Starbucks, as well as photo opportunities with the adorable Yokai characters throughout Downtown East.
