Deepavali decorations rolled out on MRT trains and some bus services
Little India and Jurong East MRT stations are also decorated for the Festival of Lights.
Commuters may find themselves taking a ride in Deepavali-themed trains and buses, and arriving at stations decorated with Deepavali designs, according to the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Facebook post on Monday (Oct 3).
It added that Deepavali-themed trains will be progressively rolled out on five MRT lines and select stations and bus services will also be decorated.
Festive designs will be featured at the Little India and Jurong East MRT stations, the Bedok Bus Interchange and bus services 23, 48, 147, 67 and 960.

Themed trains and stations are part of LTA’s Move In Groove (MIG) programme.
Started in 2014, the programme aims to “creatively transform” spaces within MRT trains and stations to make the overall public transport experience “more pleasant” for commuters.
Festive themes for public transport and stations were also rolled out for this year’s Hari Raya and Chinese New Year, as well as last year’s Christmas and National Day celebrations.
Beyond festive seasons, there were also themed rides in support of Breast Cancer Awareness and World Autism Awareness in previous years.
