Customers advised not to consume food bought from Ho Kee Pau at NEX on Jun 30
Pest infestations, including cockroaches, were observed at the preparation and assembly areas of the suppliers for Ho Kee Pau.
All customers who purchased from Ho Kee Pau’s outlet at NEX on Jun 30 are advised by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) not to consume them.
During an inspection done on Jun 30 at the premises HKP Food Technology Pte Ltd, Ho Kee Pau’s suppliers, a widespread pest infestation such as cockroaches and rodent droppings were found in the food preparation and assembly areas.
The SFA observed that the premises were also poorly maintained.
As a result, the SFA has suspended any food business operations of HKP Food Technology Pte Ltd until further notice.
Food products including dim sums and pastries that were delivered to the NEX outlet on Jun 30 have been recalled by the company.
Customers who have consumed implicated food products from Ho Kee Pau and have concerns about their health are advised to seek medical advice.
The SFA added that food safety is a joint responsibility and food operators should observe good food and personal hygiene practices at all times. The agency said it will not hesitate to take firm action against anyone who violates the Environmental Public Health Act.
Members of the public are encouraged not to patronise outlets with poor hygiene practices and to report them to the SFA via this link.
