COVID-19 cases linked to clusters at 8 bus interchanges rises to 314
There were 177 new local COVID-19 infections on Sep 1.
The COVID-19 clusters at eight bus interchanges have grown to 314 cases, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Wednesday (Sep 1).
There were 29 new cases added to the clusters, out of the 177 new local COVID-19 infections reported.
There are now 93 cases at Toa Payoh Bus Interchange, 66 cases at Boon Lay Bus Interchange, 32 cases at Punggol Bus Interchange, 28 cases at Jurong East and Bishan Bus Interchanges, and 20 cases at Clementi Bus Interchange and 24 cases at Sengkang Bus Interchange.
Only the Sengkang Bus Interchange cluster had no new cases.
No new clusters were formed on Wednesday and the number of active clusters in Singapore stands at 68.
Of the new local COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, 90 were unlinked.
This is the highest daily new local COVID-19 infections since July 21, when 179 infections were reported.
Of the remaining cases, 54 were linked to previous cases and have already been placed on quarantine while 33 were detected through surveillance.
There are three imported cases who were placed either on Stay-Home Notice or in isolation upon arrival in Singapore.
