COVID-19 cases detected in 35 markets and food centres
There were four clusters and three locations with three or more cases.
COVID-19 cases linked to the growing Jurong Fishery Port cluster have been detected in at least 35 markets and food centres, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Tuesday (Jul 20) night.
Four locations – Haig Road Market and Food Centre, Chong Pang Market, Chong Boon Market and Food Centre and Hong Lim Market and Food Centre – are listed as clusters.
MOH said that 25 cases were linked to Haig Road Market and Food Centre, while 10 cases were linked to Chong Pang Market. Both locations will be closed till Aug 4 to break chains of transmissions and enable deep cleaning of the premises.
Chong Boon Market and Food Centre is also closed till Aug 1 and MOH is offering free COVID-19 testing for those who have visited the market between Jul 3 and Jul 17.
Free antigen rapid test self-test kits will be distributed to those who have visited Cheng San Market & Cooked Food Centre, Chong Boon Market and Food Centre, Geylang Serai Market and Food Centre, as well as Haig Road Market & Food Centre.
Three locations – Clementi 448 Market and Food Centre, 726 West Coast Wet Market and Whampoa Wet Market – have had three or more COVID-19 cases.
The vast majority of the other locations had less than three COVID-19 cases.

In a separate announcement on Tuesday, MOH said there were 182 new local COVID-19 cases, of which 142 are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster and 14 are linked to the KTV cluster.
Minister of Health Ong Ye Kung said on Monday that both clusters are linked. He added that while the KTV cluster is settling down, the Jurong Fishery Port cluster is “rising worryingly”, because it is seeding cases in various markets and communities around them.
As of Wednesday morning, there are 321 cases linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster and 207 linked to the KTV cluster.
