COVID-19 cases at eight bus interchanges rise to 341

The COVID-19 cases at the eight bus interchange clusters have risen to 341, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Thursday (Sep 2).

There were 21 new cases added to the clusters, out of the 187 new local COVID-19 infections reported on Thursday. 

There are now 104 cases at Toa Payoh Bus Interchange, 74 cases at Boon Lay Bus Interchange, 32 cases at Punggol Bus Interchange, 30 cases at Jurong East Bus Interchange,  29 cases at Bishan Bus Interchange, 23 cases at Clementi Bus Interchange, 24 cases each at Sengkang Bus Interchange and Tampines Bus Interchange. 

The Sengkang Bus Interchange and Punggol Bus Interchange clusters had no new cases linked to it on Thursday. 

No new clusters were formed on Thursday and the number of active clusters in Singapore stands at 65. 

Of the new local COVID-19 infections on Thursday, a record of 113 were unlinked. 

This is the third consecutive day that the number of unlinked cases surpassed that of linked cases. It is also the highest daily number of infections since Aug 10 last year when there were 175 cases. 

Of the remaining cases, 56 were linked to previous cases and have already been placed on quarantine while 18 were detected through surveillance. 

There are four imported cases who were placed either on Stay-Home Notice or in isolation upon arrival in Singapore.
