Cosfest 2022 is happening at the Downtown East from Oct 15 to 16, over 100 exhibition booths and appearances of  international cosplay celebrities.

A signature event at Downtown East for the past 18 years, this year’s Cosfest will feature anime and cosplay song and dance performances starring the likes of Neneko from Taiwan and Joo A from South Korea, who will deejay on the first day.

Among the over 100 booths are brands like CAESARS, a retailer and distributor for premium swords and weaponry collectibles in Asia, and Hakken!, a retail and online store featuring official anime products and merchandise.

CAESARS will also give away a metallic replica sword to three ticketed winners daily during the event.

Also happening in October at Downtown East is the Halloween Town: Yokai Festival from Oct 29 to 30. The free event is a Halloween festival themed around Japanese Yokai, or spirits.

The event will kick off with a parade at 7pm on Oct 29, featuring characters from the Inuyasha anime series handing out free yokai masks.

Visitors can dress up like the characters in the Yokai parade at the Yokai Costume Makeover booth. Filled with a wide variety of costumes, accessories and props, the booth is open from 1pm to 6pm on both days.

Visitors can redeem a free slot in the workshop or a makeover at the Yokai Costume Makeover booth if they spend a minimum of $50 for NTUC Members and $60 for Link Members.

There will also be stage performances by Melanie, Singapore’s first representative at the Gyeonggi International Cosplay Festival. She will perform songs from popular series including Demon Slayer and Princess Mononoke. Visitors can also look forward to musicians playing the koto (a Japanese plucked half-tube zither instrument) and traditional Japanese taiko (Japanese percussion instrument).
