The COVID-19 cluster uncovered at Bugis Junction has increased by 38 cases on Wednesday (Aug 25), bringing the total number of 61 cases.

Among the 61 cases, 51 of them worked at Bugis Junction, of which 46 were staff at the BHG department store. The remaining 10 were visitors to the mall.

Staff members who have been working in these shops will be tested, and close contacts of confirmed cases will be quarantined. The Ministry of Health (MOH) also offered free COVID-19 testing for members of the public who visited the mall between Aug 17 and Aug 24.

The department store will be closed to the public until Aug 30, said MOH on Wednesday.

Of the two remaining recent clusters, the Selarang Halfway House cluster increased by 10, bringing the total number of cases there to 19, while the cluster linked to a previous case increased by one case and has a total of five cases.

There are 68 active clusters in Singapore currently. There were no new clusters formed, and two clusters have closed.

On Aug 25, MOH reported 118 local cases, of which 29 are unlinked.

Among the new cases, 26 are linked to the North Coast Lodge cluster, which has 112 cases in total now. Another 19 are linked to previous cases and have already been placed on quarantine while 44 were detected through surveillance.

There are two imported cases who have already been either placed on stay-home notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.
