Benjamin Kheng releases new single ‘Good For A Time’ featuring Filipino artist Bea Lorenzo
This mellow duet about heartbreak was also written in collaboration with Singaporean singer-songwriter Linying.
Benjamin Kheng dueted Filipino artist Bea Lorenzo in his latest single, Good For A Time, released last Friday (Mar 4).
Good For A Time is an pop-R&B number that features a minimalistic acoustic instrumental backing Benjamin’s and Bea’s generous harmonies.
“Working with an artist like Ben, who was so open-minded and caring throughout the process, I was reminded of the joys of honest songwriting and the power it holds in a storytelling space,” Bea said on working with Benjamin.
On the other hand, Benjamin praised Bea’s vocals for making the story more poignant.
“Being separated by miles due to the pandemic gave an added depth to the reality of the song,” he said.
Written by Benjamin and Singaporean singer-songwriter Linying, the song highlights the shared experience of heartbreak, with the lyrics capturing two lovers’ desire to stretch time as much as possible before the inevitable end of their relationship.
The music video, set in both Singapore and Manila, depicts Benjamin and Lorenzo as ex-lovers who have reunited for the first time since their separation. Filming was done concurrently in both countries, with photographer and director Lenne Chai taking the helm in Singapore.
“The experience was wonderful, and I’m so glad we pulled it off, ” said Lenne.
