Baybeats music festival returns to the Esplanade from Oct 28 to 31
The indie rock and alternative music festival features free performances and international acts.
After two years of live-streamed performances online, indie rock and alternative music festival Baybeats returns at full-scale to the Esplanade from Oct 28 to Oct 31.
Featuring a mix of punk rock, hip-hop and electronic music, the festival will take place across five different stages: Powerhouse, Annexe, Chillout Stage, Arena and the Open Stage.
Located at the Singtel Waterfront Theatre, the Powerhouse venue will let fans mosh to the likes of Japanese punk-rock quartet Otoboke Beaver and South Korean punk band Drinking Boys and Girls Choir.

At the “intimate setting” of The Annexe, fans can catch local artist TENGY performing with The Cosmic Owls.
Also joining the stage is Taiwanese band Go Go Machine Orchestra, as part of a collaboration between Bayfest and LUCfest. LUCfest is another music festival with a “strong foothold” in the Taiwanese music industry.
The Chillout Stage, located at the Esplanade Concourse, will feature local talents such as Carpet Golf and IMAN & The State Of Mind. This stage features acoustic performances that give attendees “a breather” from the livelier acts.

The Arena will house local and international acts such as homegrown The Voodoo Sound and Thai band Khana Bierbood.
It will also cast a light on the Baybeats Budding Bands, an artist development programme within the festival that identifies independent Singapore bands with the “potential to excel”.
The Open Stage, located at the Esplanade Lawn, will feature “up-and-coming” musicians in 15-minute sets, with the lineup to be announced at a later date.
Baybeats registration for the general public will open Oct 25, 9am, while Esplanade&Me members will have priority registration starting Oct 21, 9am. Details on how to register will be announced closer to the date.
