Auditions for season four of MasterChef Singapore are now open.

Aspiring Singaporean chefs who are 18 years or older and dream of making their mark in Singapore’s culinary scene can apply to audition for the show from now till Jan 15, 2023.

Filming for season four of the reality TV show will commence on Feb 27, 2023, and may last till Apr 6, 2023.

Those who have worked or currently working professionally as a chef, or get their main source of income from preparing and/or cooking fresh food in a professional environment will not be allowed to apply for the competition.

These professional environments include restaurants, hotels, canteens and catering.

The organisers of MasterChef season four encourage applicants to expand their repertoire using unfamiliar ingredients and experiment with new techniques.

“Cook against the clock or come up with your own mystery box challenges to test your creativity. Practise your presentation skills and make sure you have some dishes up your sleeve to cover the most common Asian and international cuisines, plus be able to adapt your dishes to different core ingredients,” the organisers added.

Shortlisted cooks will be notified by the casting crew via phone or email.

A live audition will come next, where cooks will have to prepare a dish that showcases their abilities. Those who pass the live audition will then take part in season four of MasterChef Singapore, which will be aired in Aug 2023.

Eighteen contestants vied for the title of MasterChef Singapore in season three, with Jonathan Chew crowned champion. Along with the iconic MasterChef trophy, Jonathan received more than $100,000 worth of prizes, including $17,000 in cash.

Judges Audra Morrice, Bjorn Shen and Damian D’Silva will return once again in season four. They advise applicants to “be prepared to bring Singapore’s flavours to the world, local dishes to the next level, and sustainable cooking practices to the forefront.

The organisers added: “We want you to be yourself! Be authentic, be bold and show us your passion for cooking. You’ll need a love of food and the skills to cook a really delicious meal!  Last but not least, you should have a food dream to turn your cooking talent into a career!”
