Apple announced the launch of the new iPhone 12 on Tuesday (Wednesday, Oct 14, Singapore time).

There will be four models available for purchase: the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

All iPhone 12 models come with 5G connectivity. This means less lag and lesser troubles with streaming, downloading and calling. The phones are water resistant to a depth of six metres for up to 30 minutes, have a ceramic shield front for better drop performance and contain the fastest A14 Bionic chip.

iPhone 12

The iPhone 12 has a 6.1-inch screen and starts off at S$1,299, available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Made up of aerospace-grade aluminium, its battery life lasts up to 17 hours of video playback.

While there were rumours that Apple would keep increasing the number of cameras on the iPhone and give the iPhone 12 four cameras, it really only has two cameras. With a wide and ultra-wide lens, it has 2x optical zoom range and Dolby Vision HDR video recording of up to 30fps.

iPhone 12 Mini

The iPhone 12 mini, is slightly smaller and cheaper, with a 5.4-inch display and prices start from S$1,149. It is also available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Its battery has a shorter life-span, lasting up to 15 hours of video playback, and is also made up of aerospace-grade aluminium.

Similar to the iPhone 12, the dual-camera iPhone 12 Mini has the same camera qualities with a wide and ultra-wide lens, 2x optical zoom range and Dolby Vision HDR video recording of up to 30fps.

The iPhone 12 mini is said to be the thinnest and lightest 5G phone yet!

iPhone 12 Pro

The iPhone 12 Pro is definitely more costly but you will be rewarded with a better display, more GB and an additional camera!

With a 6.1-inch screen similar to the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Pro starts at S$1,649. It is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. It also has a battery life worth 17 hours of video playback. However, it is made up of surgical-grade stainless steel.

Other than a wide and ultra-wide lens, the iPhone 12 Pro has an additional telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom range. It also has Dolby Vision HDR video recording of up to 60 fps, and a LiDAR Scanner for Night mode portraits, faster autofocus in low light and next-level AR experiences.

iPhone 12 Pro Max

The 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at S$1,799, available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. It is also made up of surgical-grade stainless steel. Its battery life can last up to 20 hours of video playback.

While the iPhone 12 Pro Max also has three cameras similar to the iPhone 12 Pro, it has a higher 5x optical zoom range. Both the iPhone Pro models have Dolby Vision HDR video recording of up to 60 fps, and a LiDAR Scanner.
