All residents of Hougang HDB block to be tested for COVID-19
A few residents living in Block 506 Hougang Ave 8 previously tested positive for COVID-19.
All residents living in Block 506 Hougang Ave 8 have to take mandatory COVID-19 tests, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Thursday (May 20).
This precautionary measure comes after MOH found that a few positive COVID-19 cases are living there, though the total number of positive cases at the block was not reported.
MOH has already issued leaflets and sent SMS notifications to the affected residents, who will be tested at the void deck of Block 506 on May 21 and 22.
MOH also advised residents of 506 Hougang Avenue 8 to monitor their health closely and immediately consult a doctor if they feel unwell.

This is not the first time MOH has conducted testing for a specific block. In June last year, MOH offered COVID-19 tests to residents at a block in Tampines when members in two households tested positive for COVID-19.
A total of 123 people who resided in or visited Block 111 Tampines Street 11 tested negative.
