‘Ah Girls Go Army’ cast revealed, including former NOC talent Samantha Tan
Director Jack Neo shared that they reviewed over 600 audition tapes.
In a Facebook Live on Oct 23, Director Jack Neo revealed the casting lineup for his upcoming movie, Ah Girls Go Army.
Along with actress Apple Chan and casting director Denise Chong, they broke the good news to the 14 successful applicants and had them share their thoughts via video call.
Jack Neo shared that they were originally supposed to only contact 10 applicants but due to the overwhelming response to the open call, they had no choice but to open four more slots.
Of the 14 soon-to-be recruits, former Night Owl Cinematics (NOC) talent Samantha Tan was announced to be included. Upon receiving the news, she began to tear up and thanked the team for the opportunity.
Other female cast members include actress-host Farah Farook, actress Xixi Lim and Miss Vasantham finalist Eswari Gunasagar.
“It’s going to be an army movie and I’m really looking forward to it. There’s going to be a lot of action, I believe, so I’m really excited,” said Eswari.
As for the thorn among the roses, Mediacorp’s fresh face, Glenn Yong was chosen to play the role of platoon sergeant.
“The audition tapes sent in were really funny. My casting team and I had a good laugh when watching the videos. I couldn’t believe how creative they were. You can really see that they poured their hearts into this,” said Jack Neo in Mandarin.
The movie, which is a female-led spinoff of Ah Boys To Men, is slated to air on Feb 1, 2022.
