Ah Girls Go Army 2 to be released on Jun 16
Love it or hate it, the Ah Girls are back.
You may or may not want it, but another Ah Girls Go Army is coming to theatres Again four months after the release of the first film.
Titled Ah Girls Go Army Again, the sequel is slated for release on Jun 16.
Production company J Team Productions announced in a Facebook post on May 20: “Ah girls back reporting for duty! Get ready as they are back stronger in unity!”
While the film synopsis has not been revealed yet, fans can probably expect the plot twists and cliff hangers from part one to come full circle.
Director Jack Neo announced in an Instagram post in April that the team had “finished two movies after struggling for 49 days”. He also added that there will be a movie marathon available for audiences to binge watch both parts of the film in one sitting.
Despite the critical reviews from viewers, Ah Girls Go Army raked in S$2.5 million in Singapore as of Feb 17. It also grossed RM1.5 million (S$470,000) in Malaysia and Brunei.
The first Ah Girls Go Army, which was released on Feb 1, follows a group of female Gen-Z Singaporeans who enlist in the army in the wake of a serious shortage of manpower due to declining birth rates.
It starred Apple Chan as 2LT Roxanne Tan, Glenn Yong as 2SG C K Chow, Yang Guang Ke Le as Recruit Princess See, and Belle Chua as Recruit Joey Tay.
