aespa confirmed to perform on Coachella 2022 main stage on Apr 23
The girl group will be the first Kpop act to perform on the main stage rather than the Sahara stage.
Kpop girl group aespa is set to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this Sat (Apr 23).
This will mark aespa as the first Kpop act to perform on the main stage in the history of the festival. Previously, Blackpink and Epik High also performed at Coachella, but their sets were on the Sahara stage.
aespa was formed by S.M. Entertainment and debuted on Nov 17, 2020. The group’s releases are heavily infused with virtual reality concepts, with the members having their own virtual avatars and the ability to travel to futuristic worlds.
At Coachella, aespa will perform their hit title tracks “Black Mamba,” “Next Level,” and “Savage”, and an additional unreleased song. The performances will be streamed live on Coachella’s Youtube channel.
Aside from aespa, this year’s lineup includes hit singers like Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat and Pink Sweat$. Disbanded group 2NE1 also made a surprise appearance and performed their hit I Am The Best, as leader CL invited the members back for a reunion performance.
Coachella is an annual music and arts festival, highly anticipated each year due to its popular music lineup. A wide range of arts and entertainment activities also feature at the festival each year.
The festival will run from Apr 15 to Apr 17 and Apr 22 to Apr 24 this year.
