Gardens by the Bay’s signature festive event, Christmas Wonderland, returns for the eighth time this year.

You can witness it’s stunning light displays, carnival games, attractions and even do some Christmas shopping from now till Jan 2, 2022.

With so many beautiful spots  to capture a picture for the Gram, here are some poses you and your friends can do while you enjoy the merry vibes at Christmas Wonderland

1. Candid and casual

You can never go wrong with a candid pose.

Candid poses look natural as if it was captured in the moment, because it was! It’s called ‘candid’ for a reason, so relax and pretend to have a conversation with your friend.

Other candid shots could also be you laughing, walking around or waving. Here’s a tip; ask your friend to take a video instead.

From there, you can do multiple actions on the video and screenshot your favourite moments!

2. No face

Being camera-shy should never stop you from capturing your favourite moments.

If you just don’t want your face to be in the shot, you could try facing away or just slightly from the camera.

And while you hide your face, this pose will definitely enhance the background and make it the picture’s focus.

The carousel in this picture is hand-painted by craftsmen in Europe. Tickets cost $10 per person and must be pre-booked online.

3. Over the shoulder

Have you ever thought: “Does my body look awkward in this picture?”

If that’s you when taking pictures, this pose will make you look like you’re a natural for posing. Plus, it’s pretty simple.

Not only does this pose compliment your shoulders and back, it gives a youthful and playful look to your pictures.

Even though you can’t walk across the Enchanted Bridge, the view from below is just as amazing. The Enchanted Bridge is almost 8m-tall and is surrounded by 100,000 LED lights.

You may want to wear something bright to stand out from the dark LED lights.

4. #NotSingle

This mysterious and fun pose could be used to drop some hints that you might have a plus one for the Christmas parties.

Other than your partner, you could even do this pose with friends since Christmas is all about spreading joy and love!

You have probably seen similar pictures online and the Spalliera at Christmas Wonderland is a great place to recreate them.

To capture the seven-storey tall lights, your friend might want to place the phone around their waist and tilt it up.

The Spalliera is also inspired by the circular rose windows found in Europe’s Gothic churches.

Even though there’s now fake snow this year, the Spalliera is still as mesmerising as ever.

5. Moving background

Unlike the ‘no face’ pose, having a blurred background will bring all the attention to you!

The best part of this pose is that you don’t have to do anything but to keep still while your friend keeps a steady hand.

You could either ask your friend to take a video instead but I would recommend using the ‘burst’ feature on the camera.

This would allow you to capture the moving subjects behind you while keeping you as a focus.

6. No pictures!

I call this the ‘no pictures!’ pose as it looks like you’re reaching for the camera from your friend who’s filming you.

While some might call such shots ‘unglams’, these shots will definitely make you reminisce about the fun times you had with your friends!

And for this pose, all you have to do is pretend like you’re reaching out for the phone.

The Walk of Stars is a 44m-long tunnel made up of thousands of programmable LED lights which are in the shape of stars.

As seen in the picture, the rainbow-like coloured stars promise you a romantic walk at night.

Pictures are a great way to remember your special moments with loved ones. And having a phone has made it so much easier to do so.

And at Christmas Wonderland, you will surely be making those memories with your loved ones, enjoying the vibes of Christmas at every corner.

If you’re visiting Christmas Wonderland, be sure to have your phones and cameras with full batteries. But most importantly, remember to bring your best smiles!
