6 events to look out for at the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2023
Big goodbye to 2022 with these activities!
No idea what to do while ushering in 2023?
You may want to check out the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown, which consists of a number of exciting activities.
Here are six things to look out for:
1. Fireworks display return with a new show
A good fireworks display is always the highlight of every countdown event.
This year, the multi-sensory fireworks musical extravaganza STAR ISLAND will make its comeback at The Float at Marina Bay after a two-year hiatus.

With a space and time theme, the showcase will feature performances, pyrotechnics, state-of-the-art technologies and, most importantly, artisanal fireworks ideal for Instagram feeds.
Sanrio fans are also in luck as there will be a special appearance by Sanrio characters, including a live pre-show gig by DJ Hello Kitty. There will also be a Sanrio-themed family-friendly area.
2. Experience carnival activities at the The Great Bay Fiesta
Organised by The Show Master, an entertainment arm of the beloved Uncle Ringo brand, The Great Bay Fiesta has been welcoming visitors to the month-long festival packed with an array of activities, since Dec 1.

The Great Bay Fiesta will also feature The Great World Carnival and The Great Food Fiesta. Visitors can enjoy classic carnival rides, games and try out a selection of specialty fare and street food from both local and international brands.
3. Enjoy a Star-studded Countdown Concert
This year, Mediacorp’s Countdown Concert will feature multiple artists from the local and regional entertainment scene.

These talents will perform live during the pre-show, which will be streamed on meWATCH and Mediacorp Entertainment’s YouTube channel.
4. Catch projections on the facade of the Fullerton Hotel and Merlion
Two of Singapore’s most iconic facades, The Fullerton Hotel and Merlion, will be lit up as part of the Share the Moment campaign in partnership with the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and Giving.sg.
These projections, themed City of Good, will feature never-before-seen original artworks by students from local educational institutions. The artworks celebrate acts of giving and depict a vision of Singapore where individuals, organisations and leaders come together to give their best for others.

The nightly light projections will run between 8pm and 10.30pm from Dec 26 to 30, and between 8pm and 1am on New Year’s Eve.
5. Groove to musical performances at the Esplanade
From now till Dec 31, Singapore’s up-and-coming artists and performers will put up free performances at Esplanade.
Part of the Esplanade’s Come Together, a lineup of free programmes, the likes of KHAi, Owen Li, and Heema Izzati.

The full-line up of performances throughout the month can be found on Esplanade’s website.
Performances will be held at the Esplanade’s Outdoor Theatre and Course. Some may be streamed on Esplanade’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
6. Have a fun night out at After Hours @ The Lawn
A two-day lifestyle event, After Hours @ The Lawn will be held at the grassy expanse right outside Downtown MRT station. Free for visitors of all ages, the entertainment zone will feature larger-than-life games, food stalls, entertainment offerings and a designated chill-out zone.
Those planning to catch the fireworks may want to consider camping out at The Lawn, as it will offer a full view of it.
After Hours @ The Lawn runs on Dec 30 from 5pm to 10pm and Dec 31 from 5pm to 12am.
