Michelin announced the selection of their Michelin Guide Singapore 2022 on Tuesday (Jul 12), which includes 51 restaurants and one street food stall.

This is up from the 49 establishments that were featured in the Michelin Guide last year.

This marks the sixth anniversary of the Michelin Guide Singapore selection, which serves to recognise eateries that offer exceptional dishes.

There are seven new restaurants in the One Michelin Star category. Out of these, four restaurants are making their debut, one has gained a star for its new opening, while two have been promoted from being Michelin-selected restaurants.

The four new restaurants which were awarded its maiden Michelin star includes 12-seater restaurant Hamamoto which is helmed by a chef with over 20 years of experience, as well as Gardens by the Bay’s Marguerite which offers diners a unique experience along with dishes made with seasonal ingredients.

Korean restaurant Nae:um and Japanese restaurant Reve located at Telok Ayer and Kerta Ayer Road respectively were also awarded its first Michelin star.

Two new restaurants were also added to the list of two-starred establishments.

Named after an Australian author’s novel, Cloudstreet in Amoy Street offers customers a unique fine-dining experience with a wide variety of dishes from different cultures.

Thevar’s creative multi-course menu features traditional Indian-inspired cuisine with a modern gaze, earning the Keong Siak-based restaurant its second star.

They join five other restaurants with two Michelin stars in Singapore.

Odette at the National Gallery, Zen in Bukit Pasoh and Les Amis at Shaw Centre all managed to maintain three stars.

However, Corner House, Garibaldi and Shinji by Kanesaka did not manage to retain the one Michelin star.

Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle remains the only street food establishment on the list.

Young Chef Award was awarded to Seoul-born Louis Han of Nae:um, whose restaurant has just picked up its first Michelin star.
