4,297 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore reported on Feb 3, including 2,742 with mild symptoms
There were 4,087 local cases on Thursday.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 4,297 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore on Thursday (Feb 3).
Among the new infections, 1,838 were aged between 12 and 39.
Of the cases reported on Thursday, 1,555 were detected through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests. This included 1,357 local cases.
Another 2,742 cases were detected through Antigen Rapid Tests (ART) and assessed by a doctor to have mild symptoms and of low risk. Of these, 2,730 were local cases.
In total, there were 4,087 local transmission cases.
The weekly COVID-19 infection growth rate dropped to 1.23, down from 1.41 on Wednesday. The growth rate refers to the ratio of community cases for the past week over the week before and a weekly infection growth rate above one indicates an increasing number of new weekly cases.
One death related to COVID-19 was reported on Thursday, taking the national death toll to 860.
There were 4,614 cases discharged from the hospital over the past day, while 932 cases remain warded in hospitals. Of these, 78 cases require oxygen supplementation and 16 cases remain in the Intensive Care Unit.
In the last 28 days, 72,804 cases have been recorded, of which 99.6 per cent had no or mild symptoms and 0.3 per cent have required oxygen supplementation.
As of Feb 2, 92 per cent of the eligible population, 89 per cent of total population, are fully vaccinated, 91 per cent have received at least one dose and 59 per cent have received boosters.
