13 youths showcase photo projects at Objectifs from Feb 9 to Mar 6
The exhibition is a culmination of the Shooting Home Youth Awards 2021 programme.
After a month-long mentorship program in Dec 2021, 13 young photographers have prepared a visual interpretation of their idea of ‘home’.
The photos are part of an exhibition held at Objectifs for the Shooting Home Youth Awards (SHYA) programme, from Feb 9 to Mar 6.
After being selected through an open call, the participants were then mentored by industry professionals Ng Hui Hsien, Juria Toramae, Lenne Chai and Marvin Tang.
The exhibition-cum-graduation showcase documents what ‘home’ means to the participants.

Started in 2011, the SHYA is a platform for youths ranging between 15 to 23 years old to develop their photography skills and exhibit their work publicly.
The programme, run by the Objectifs centre for photography and film, is themed around the idea of home and pushes individuals to draw inspiration from their surroundings and issues important to them.
The exhibition will run till Mar 6 at Objectif’s lower gallery and courtyard. It is open from 12pm to 7pm on Tuesdays to Saturdays and 12om to 4pm on Sundays. Admission is free, with artist talks held on Zoom from 8pm to 9.30pm on Feb 17 and 24.
