11,504 new COVID-19 cases on Jun 28; highest daily number in three months
3,930 of the locally infected were from the ages 20 to 39 years old.
A total of 11,504 new COVID-19 cases were reported as of noon on Jun 28. This is the highest number of cases reported in the last three months.
10,732 of the reported cases were local while the rest of the 772 cases were imported.
The last time there was a significant spike was on Mar 22 with a total of 13,166 daily new reported cases.
Of the local infections, 3,930 were from those aged 20 to 39 years old, which makes this the primary age group that was infected.
The second-highest local cases were from those aged 40 to 59 years old.
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH) website, there are 437 patients hospitalised. 36 of the patients require oxygen supplementation and nine patients are currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
One death due to COVID-19 was also reported on Jun 28, leading to a total of 1,410 deaths.
As of Jun 27, 96 per cent of the eligible population and 92 per cent of the total population have completed the full regimen of COVID-19 vaccines. 78 per cent of the total population have received booster shots.
