10 new COVID-19 clusters detected, 1,021 new community cases identified in past week
A medical centre in Jurong has been identified as a new cluster with three cases linked to it.
Ten new COVID-19 clusters have been identified, including one linked to the Apex Medical Centre (Jurong), said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Monday (Jul 26) night.
The Apex Medical Centre (Jurong) has three cases linked to it while three to four cases were linked to the remaining nine clusters.
There are 35 active clusters in total, ranging between three and 858 infections.
Four locations — PSC Express Pte Ltd, Khoi Grill & Hotpot, 105 Henderson Crescent and Changi General Hospital — are among the active clusters with three or more COVID-19 cases.
MOH reported 129 new local COVID-19 cases on Monday, of which 61 are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster and six to the KTV cluster.
There were also 28 cases which were unlinked.
Nine new cases have been linked to Samy’s Curry Restaurant in Dempsey, which now has a cluster of 22 cases. The Marina Bay Sands Casino cluster has also grown to 34 cases.
The number of new cases in the community has increased from 479 cases last week to 1,021 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 35 cases in the week before to 143 cases in the past week.
“We are likely to continue to see a high number of cases in the coming days as we step up efforts to detect them to contain their spread in the community,” MOH said in a press release.
