In celebration of Singapore’s 55th National Day, the fireworks display will be set off from 10 different locations islandwide this Sunday (Aug 9).

The NDP’s annual closing finale will be launched 15 to 62 storeys high, visible up to 8km away and from many homes. They will be set off at around 8.20pm and last for about five minutes each.

The fireworks will be launched from these 10 locations: Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Buona Vista, Jurong Lake Gardens, Marina Reservoir, Punggol, Sembawang, Tampines, Woodlands and Yew Tee.

These sites were chosen to maximise the visibility of the fireworks display across Singapore.

As the fireworks will be visible from far, the NDP organisers are also dissuading Singaporeans from crowding at these locations to view the fireworks.

If you wish to view the NDP activities in public, you must adhere to safe distancing rules such as wearing a mask at all times, having five or less people in a group and maintaining one metre safe distancing between each other.

Safe-distancing ambassadors and enforcement officers will also be deployed to prevent and disperse any crowds. To further reduce the potential spread of COVID-19, singing the national anthem or reciting the national pledge aloud is not advised when out in public.

In light of the ongoing pandemic, this year’s National Day Parade (NDP) will be broadcast live and on internet platforms.

The morning portion, titled The Strength of Our Nation, will be filmed live at the Padang starting at 10am with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s National Day message.

An evening show will follow after at The Star Performing Arts Centre in Buona Vista which commences at 7pm.
