Voices – A Festival of Song: Eye-to-I: Self-Guided Audio Tour
Lin Xiangning & Choral Directors Association (Singapore)
Eye-to-I; we find pieces of ourselves in sights all around. Ordinary and extraordinary objects alike turn into telling mirrors of our selves within—finite beings with infinite feelings, desires and visions.
As you wander and listen, may your thoughts, too, find voice—a sensing of the views anew, an appreciation that rings true to your moment in space and time. This audio tour features spoken prose accompanied by a playlist of choral excerpts provided by Choral Directors Association (Singapore), forming an intimate portrait of five locations within Esplanade that have sparked particular resonance and interest— Concrete Brook, Eucalyptus trees, Roof Terrace, Tribute Corner, and Baby Bubble.
About Lin Xiangning
Born in 1997, Lin Xiangning’s childhood pleasures included dancing to Bollywood musical films, playing pretend school teacher with her grandparents, bedtime stories, and being on the piano. Though things look slightly different now, at the heart of it, these instinctive passions for music, education and crafting narratives remain aglow.
After graduating from School of the Arts, Singapore with the Prime Minister’s Valedictorian Award, Lin went on to complete the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in piano performance at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM). Lin is currently working at YSTCM as a Teaching Assistant in relation to the areas of Music Cognition, Singapore Studies, and Artistic Research.
About Choral Directors’ Association (Singapore) (CDAS)
Formed in 2002 to promote the art of choral singing in Singapore, CDAS seeks to improve the professional status of the choral director and to develop and sustain communication among all groups of professionals directly involved with the development and improvement of choral curriculum and instruction.
To that end, we organise and conduct talks, workshops, courses, seminars, conventions, symposiums, excursions, tours, competitions, festivals, repertoire reading sessions and many other events that support choral directors and choral enthusiasts alike.
