OTR Mental Wellness Festival 2021
Join us for the last event of 2021 from the comforts of your home as we care for our mental wellbeing through fun workshops, ranging from the arts to music, and even gardening!
Presented by Over-The-Rainbow (OTR)’s YOUth Matters – a youth community outreach project, this bi-annual Mental Wellness Festival is back (Virtually)!
6 Workshops will be held from 16th December to 18th December 2021.
Grow with Nature: Take a step forward to embark on a new journey with the seeds you plant. Understand and reflect on changes and challenges in your past, present and future, and look towards a new chapter in your life.
Open Canvas: Artistic expression allows us to connect with ourselves and others by letting our creativity take charge on a blank canvas. No artistic backgrounds needed! Participants are free to use their imagination, thoughts, and experiences to give meaning to shapes, lines, and colours on a canvas.
Tune in: Power of Music and Movement: Music, dance, movement – they are essential mechanisms and mediums of human expression and connection. Participants will get an opportunity to understand the connection of music to the body in a safe environment, and explore the power of music and movement as self-expression and for healing!
Self-Care 101: Join us in this Self Care 101 session to uncover your core values, strengths, motivations and aspirations to better understand yourself and connect with your inner voice. Create positive changes within yourself for your mental well-being and be the change you want to see!
Self-Expression through Theatre: Join us on a journey of storytelling, improvisation, performance and self-expression through a series of simple acting exercises and theatre techniques. Theatre is a safe space for you to connect with yourself and others on a deeper and more immediate level through the arts.
Escape Room: Mental Wellness Exploration: Join us and learn more about what you can do as a mental wellness ambassador as we consider how we can be there for our fellow loved ones and the community. Take part in an escape room about mental health and wellness in common youth environments. Discover and experience how you would react in certain situations while understanding what is best to say or do in certain high-stress situations.
The events are curated to promote a holistic mental wellbeing through talks on self-care, artistic outlets for the mental wellbeing and an all-important reminder to reach out to others.
