Sit back and relax as Vivien celebrates and share her change and growth after a year of COVID-19.
Wed, 2 Jun 2021 - Wed, 2 Jun 2021
Esplanade Concourse
Fresh off the release of her second EP, Vivien celebrates change and growth in a candid and earnest set about re-entering the world after a year of COVID-19. Expect a night of light-hearted stories about growth and new revelations about the world, as she revisits old, unreleased music and nostalgic songs from her childhood. Settled comfortably back at the Esplanade Concourse, Vivien Yap reflects on the ever-changing “new normal” with comforting throwbacks to the early 2000s.
An unassuming raconteur, Vivien writes stories into folk-driven pop songs.
Infectious and brooding melodies paired with romantic lyricism are the hallmarks of her music, which conveys her struggles with identity and self worth. On stage, Vivien banters almost as much as she sings because she wants her audiences to laugh as much as they might cry.
Vivien’s debut EP Fables was released in 2019 and she is currently working on her second EP, of which two songs have been released.
